4. Applicable Data Protection Law

a. Runway Relay processes personal data in compliance with the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (PDPL) and its implementing regulations, as applicable to the platform's operations in the United Arab Emirates.

b. The Data Controller responsible for personal data collected through the Runway Relay platform is: Runway Relay Runway Relay Trading L.L.C-FZ, registered in Meydan Free Zone, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. For all data protection enquiries, please contact: hello@runwayrelay.net.

c. Where required under applicable law, Runway Relay has appointed, or will appoint, a Data Protection Officer (DPO). Contact details for the DPO will be published in the platform's privacy dashboard and updated as required. In the interim, all data subject requests and privacy concerns should be directed to hello@runwayrelay.net.

5. Marketing Communications

We may send:

• rental reminders

• promotional communications (where permitted)

Users may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.

Transactional communications may still be sent when necessary.

6. Legal Basis for Processing

a. Runway Relay processes personal data on the following legal bases under the UAE PDPL:

• i. Order processing and rental fulfilment, processing is required to perform the rental contract entered into by the user.
• ii. Delivery and returns coordination, processing is necessary to fulfil logistics obligations under the rental agreement.
• iii. Payment processing, processing is required to complete payment and comply with financial record-keeping obligations.
• iv. Supplier payout management, processing is required to calculate and disburse commissions under the Supplier Terms.
• v. Marketing communications, Consent: promotional communications are sent only where the user has given consent. Consent may be withdrawn at any time.
• vi. Fraud prevention and platform security, processing is necessary to protect the platform, its users, and wardrobe partners from misuse and fraudulent activity.
• vii. Legal compliance, processing is required to comply with applicable UAE laws, including financial record-keeping, consumer protection, and anti-money laundering regulations.

7. Data Retention Periods

a. Runway Relay retains personal data for the following periods, after which data will be deleted or anonymized unless a longer period is required by applicable law:

• i. Customer account data: retained for two (2) years from the date of last account activity, or for the duration of the account where it remains active.
• ii. Transaction and rental records: retained for five (5) years from the date of the transaction, in accordance with UAE commercial record-keeping requirements.
• iii. Supplier participation records: retained for five (5) years from the date of last supplier activity or termination of the supplier relationship.
• iv. Marketing consent records: retained for the duration of the consent, and for one (1) year following withdrawal of consent.
• v. Customer support communications: retained for two (2) years from the date of the last communication.

b. Where personal data is relevant to ongoing or anticipated legal proceedings, regulatory investigations, or unresolved disputes, Runway Relay may retain the relevant data beyond the standard retention periods until the matter is fully resolved.

8. Cross-Border Data Transfers

a. In the course of operating the platform, personal data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the UAE, including those where Runway Relay's cloud hosting, analytics, or payment processing providers operate. These may include countries within the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

b. Where personal data is transferred to countries that do not provide a level of data protection equivalent to the UAE PDPL, Runway Relay will ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, which may include: (a) standard contractual data protection clauses agreed with the recipient; (b) the recipient being bound by binding corporate rules approved under applicable data protection law; or (c) the transfer being necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party.

c. By registering an account and using the Runway Relay platform, users acknowledge that their personal data may be transferred internationally as described in this clause, subject to the safeguards in place.

9. Data Subject Rights under the UAE PDPL

a. Under the UAE PDPL, data subjects have the following rights in respect of their personal data processed by Runway Relay:

• i. Right of access: the right to request confirmation of whether Runway Relay processes personal data about you, and to receive a copy of that data.
• ii. Right to correction: the right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data held about you.
• iii. Right to erasure: the right to request deletion of personal data where it is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, subject to applicable legal retention obligations.
• iv. Right to restriction of processing: the right to request that Runway Relay restricts processing of your personal data in defined circumstances.
• v. Right to data portability: the right to receive your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format where technically feasible and where processing is based on consent or contractual necessity.
• vi. Right to withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, the right to withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
• vii. Right to object: the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests, including for direct marketing purposes.

b. Data subject rights requests may be submitted to hello@runwayrelay.net. Runway Relay will acknowledge receipt within five (5) business days and respond substantively within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt of a complete request. Where a request is complex or involves a large volume of data, Runway Relay may extend this period by a further thirty (30) days and will notify the data subject accordingly.

c. Data subjects who are not satisfied with Runway Relay's response to a data rights request may lodge a complaint with the UAE Data Office, which is the authority responsible for administering the UAE PDPL.
